Our Method of Education

After years dedicated to teaching Spanish as a foreign language (since 1995), MELKART has developed a teaching method based on a communicative task-oriented focus in which what is important is that the student – within his or her level of Spanish - acts as a social agent. That’s to say that the student is capable of performing a set of concrete tasks or actions in his or her social environment. And can do so across the different language skills learnt – written comprehension and expression and oral comprehension and expression. The student will be capable of communicating across these distinct channels of communication. This will be made possible by using the methods and materials that the school itself has developed.

All the teachers of Melkart have many years of experience of teaching Spanish; they have university degrees in philology and have specialised in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. What’s more, they continue to develop their skills by attending training courses aimed at foreign language teachers.

The quality of the methodology and the ability of the teachers to make sure our students are able to achieve the specified communicative objectives at each level.

Melkart offers classes at each level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) endorsed, among others, by the Cervantes Institute.

COMPETENCIA COMUNICATIVA EN CADA NIVEL DE ENSEÑANZA

Hacen referencia a la lengua como SISTEMA COMUNICATIVO, constituido por un conjunto de reglas sistematizadas, en un complejo entramado gramatical, que recoge los diferentes aspectos fonológicos, sintácticos y semánticos que estructuran y definen el sistema comunicativo.

Las clases prácticas en su dimensión analítica, por destrezas, son el apoyo necesario para ir asimilando progresivamente, en los diversos estadios o procesos de adquisición (conocer, interiorizar, asimilar, utilizar), estos contenidos gramaticales comunicativos, (fijados aquí en objetivos funcionales) y para ir realizándolos en los diferentes ámbitos de comunicación real (conversación, audición, lectura, escritura), apoyados en los distintos procedimientos didácticos: dramatizaciones, simulaciones, juegos... y en los recursos (proyecciones, ordenador...)

Uso de la lengua como instrumento de comunicación en un espacio sociocultural que supone la realización, individual y concreta, del sistema, realizada en un entorno sociocultural concreto, con uno o varios interlocutores concretos y determinados.
